Weekly Report: December 16th - December 22nd 2024

The Week in Summary:

  • On Monday and Tuesday, I was down with a cold of sorts with a lot of body aches and general yuckiness. Over those couple days, I played No Man's Sky and finished their returning expedition: Adrift. Additionally, Taylor and I finished listening to the rest of Steven Johnson's The Infernal Machine: A True Story of Dynamite, Terror, and the Rise of the Modern Detective. Man, anarchists loved blowing shit up at the turn of the 20th century.
  • I worked a few days this week - it was fairly light around the science centre with few schools visiting. On Thursday evening, we had a staff holiday party with a gift exchange and a few party games.
  • Taylor and I started our winter break on Friday. Over the weekend, Taylor and I mostly stayed at home playing Age of Empires IV, enjoying cinnamon buns, listening to a New Order record I picked up, and ordering in Thai food. As for going out and about, we went out to get breakfast at Galaxie Diner on Friday, stopped at a few stores over the weekend to get goodies for the holidays, and met up with our dear friend Avery at Kensington Pub (we have not seen him for quite some time)!
  • Over the weekend, I started having lower back pain, likely do to ergonomic silliness with sitting at the computer more, but I am making sure to take care of it so it can recovery. I am contemplating getting into a yoga or pilates class in the new year. I've got to be more attentive to my body as I age.
