Weekly Report: February 17th - February 23rd 2025

The Week in Summary:

  • Let's start with a milestone! I have posted a weekly report for every week of the past year. The first weekly report was for February 19th - 25th. It's amazing how different life is today from last year. The only constant in life is change.
  • On Tuesday, Taylor and I went to Katelyn and Ang's place to enjoy a succulent Chinese meal and play Root! We had never played Root before, but despite the initial challenge of learning our respective factions, we were blown away by the impressive game design. There was a lot of really interesting faction-unique systems that do provide a lot of grounds for replay-ability!
  • On Wednesday, after getting a dental cleaning, Rand and I went to Cafe Beano to chat, then Taylor joined us for Venezuelan food on 17th Ave (at Heaven Restaurant Market). I really enjoyed the black beans and plantains, but I do prefer SUMAQ a few blocks west.
  • Over the weekend, Taylor and I got some chores/errands done, went down to Inglewood to pick up tea and yarn, had lunch at Alumni, and went on a long walk along Elbow River Pathway. I also played No Man's Sky and read Black Ghost of Empire: The Long Death of Slavery and the Failure of Emancipation by Kris Manjapra.
  • I am really starting to enjoy No Man's Sky right now. I played Expedition Titan twice this week, once on PS5 (thanks Avery!) and once on PC, but I have begun to get into upgrading my starships, multi-tools, and exocrafts.
