Weekly Report: February 3rd - February 9th 2025

The Week in Summary:

  • I returned back to work after being away for the last couple weeks. My new medication made it a lot easier to focus on my day-to-day tasks. My greetings and workshops with school groups were a lot more organized and concise, without losing any of my personal flair. That being said, with how dry Calgary has been this past week (which is simply how the winter season is here), I was dealing with a stuffy nose. chapped lips, and a dry throat all week, though it could be a mild cold too.
  • On Thursday, Alexis, Taylor, and I went down to Contemporary Calgary to check out the launch of the 2025 Exposure Photography Festival. But whilst there were excellent and creative photographs, the highlight of the night was joining a guided tour of Rajni Perera and Marigold Santos' Efflorescence art exhibition! Absolutely stunning!
  • On the weekend, I focused on doing household chores, enjoyed lots of hot chocolate (possibly too many), and played Crusader Kings III. I also got to spend Sunday evening with Taylor, Katelyn, Ang, and Alexis at Class Clown/Element Cafe (the latter of the two has the best hot chocolate so far)
  • Though this was last Sunday, Taylor and I cancelled a bunch of our digital subscriptions to American companies. This included Netflix, Audible, New York Times, Doordash, and sadly, the Atlantic. I have been subscribed to the Atlantic for quite some time and I have adored their articles over the years, but I am as petty as I am patriotic.

By: Chris Standin President Trump has gone ahead with his long rumoured plans to put a 25% tariff on all Canadian goods sold in the United States (other than energy, which got 10%). He believes he can use brute economic force to make us bend the knee, and possibly even annex us. But he does […]
