Weekly Report: January 20th - January 26th 2025
The Week in Summary:
- Let me start by saying that this was an exceptionally difficult week for myself. In combination with being sick with the flu and a nervous breakdown that's been building for awhile, I also made the decision to quit habitual cannabis use (which I have used daily since the tail-end of the pandemic). This combined mess resulted in a lot of mental health challenges with increased anxiety and brutal insomnia (sometimes only getting 2 hrs of sleep). Adding to this, my loss of appetite has been rough with few foods calling upon me (my body is apparently craving lots of fruits and vegetables). By the end of the week, some of these issues have been starting to improve, from getting more sleep on the weekend's nights to getting my anxiety back towards some manageable baseline. Ultimately, this is a wake-up call for myself and I am hoping to channel this suffering into better lifestyle changes going forward.
- I want to thank Taylor for being my rock, as always. Without their love and support, I would not be ending this week with the level of optimism I currently have. <3 But additionally, I also want to thank other folks too. Thank you for the snacks and Korean citrus tea, Katelyn and Ang! Thank you for neighbourhood walks, Alexis and Amy. Thank you r/leaves for support during this recovery.
- Beyond all of the other messiness, I listened to Timothy Garton Ash's Homelands: A Personal History of Europe and watched Andrew Callaghan's This Place Rules.
