Weekly Report: July 15th - July 21st 2024
The Week in Summary:
- I have been playing a hell of a lot of Elden Ring this past week. I'm currently working on a build focused on scarlet rot, poison, and some bladed weaponry. It would be fair to say that I am obsessed.
- Throughout much of the week, I have been watching the Guardian's live coverage of the aftermath of the assassination attempt on Trump, the Republican National Convention, and the continued calls for President Biden to drop out of the 2024 Presidential Election. As of noon on Sunday, President Biden announced he would no longer be seeking the presidency for a second term. What a crazy week in US politics.
- On Friday, the largest global IT outage occurred throwing nearly the entire planet into a bit of a mess. From airports to healthcare facilities, there has been a lot of disruption and it is expected to take awhile to repair in its aftermath.
- On Saturday, Taylor and I celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary at the Coup over some brunch. After relaxing for the afternoon, we spent the evening at their parents for a murder mystery dinner party. I played a respected superintendent of the Metropolitan Police and Taylor played a middle-class shopkeeper with shady connections.
- On Sunday, I hung around our condo for most of the day to try and escape the oppressive heat outside. I listened to some records, played Elden Ring, and listened to an audiobook. Later in the afternoon, my buddy Avery came down to Calgary and we went to Element Cafe for a bit until we had dinner at Class Clown. Good times!
