Weekly Report: May 19th - May 25th 2025

The Week in Summary:

  • On Victoria Day, Taylor and I went for a morning bike ride to Kensington to hang out at Higher Ground Cafe. For much of the day beyond that, I read about ocean physics and played Subnautica.
  • The work week was fairly ordinary. As is the case for May, the science centre is quite busy, but my everyday routine is still similar. On a couple evenings after work, I went to the cafe with a couple friends; Qamaria Yemeni Coffee for iced Adeni tea with milk cake with Amy, and Element Cafe for a matcha latte with a cinnamon apple knot with Alexis. Taylor and I went to the Coup on Friday evening (it's as tasty as it is expensive). Additionally, I went to Social Cut & Shave on 17th Ave after work on Thursday for a fresh haircut (I feel much lighter after).
  • On Saturday, Taylor and I went on a bike ride to Inglewood to do birdwatching at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, read at Oolong Tea House, and stop at Two Wheel View for a new saddle for Taylor's bike. On Sunday, I got a chain replacement for my single-speed bicycle at the Bike Shop, cleaned the condo, and picked up a new book at Shelf Life, but ultimately, I spent most of the day finishing Nicholas Carr's new book: Superbloom: How Technologies of Connection Tear Us Apart.
