Weekly Report: October 21st - October 27th 2024
The Week in Summary:
- The first snowfall of the season fell on Monday morning. Though it did not stay for very long, it's a sign of weather to come. Here's hoping we get a lot of snow for the season to keep the crops healthy. In any case, for that morning (before work started), Taylor and I went out for breakfast at Phil's and I got a Spanish omelette.
- On Friday evening, Alexis and I joined Jan and James for a theatre production of Lehman Trilogy at Theatre Calgary. I really enjoyed the play's commentary on the growth of American capitalism and the seductive nature of markets, but the flow of the play was busy with a lack of focus on the defining themes that would otherwise make it stand out more. Still, it was a wonderful evening nonetheless!
- For much of the long weekend, Taylor and I stayed at home and hung out. I was reading Christopher Clark's Revolutionary Spring: Europe Aflame and the Fight for a New World, 1848-1849 and playing Elden Ring - which I very much enjoyed, though my body is screaming for more movement.
- I am going to be honest. I went a little nuts with playing Elden Ring this week. I finally beat Shadow of the Erdtree and I have only grown more enamoured since completing the expansion. I think my need to play this game is nearly pathological at this point.

- Could North and South Korea enter the Russia-Ukraine war? by CBC News (Video): With speculation growing regarding North Korea's entry into the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, wider geopolitical issues are brought into question - namely the implications for South Korea.
