Weeknotes: February 23th - March 1st 2026

Disclaimer: It should be mentioned that Weeknotes are always a snapshot of the week itself and lack the fullness of life - as is the case with any personal blogging.

✨ Happenings

  • Over the work week, I had a fairly hard time getting the proper sleep. I chalk a lot of this up to nerves more than anything. Every once and awhile, I get on edge about sleep and try to force it to happen – which famously does not help. In any regard, it kind of messed with my week a bit, but provided reminders of "effortless action".
  • Throughout much of the work week, I was mostly up to normal everyday activities: reading, cleaning the condo, running errands, biking, and playing video games. Some weeks are mundane and that's beautiful.
  • On Saturday morning, Nyx and I went to Nose Hill Park for a couple hours to walk around and enjoy the winter sun (in addition to the noisy and cold wind). For lunch, we went to Nan's Noodles and Canela's for vegan delights. For the rest of the afternoon (and into the evening), I played Ghost of Yotei and got absolutely absorbed into it (which is going to be a recurring video game you'll hear about).
  • On Sunday, I started the morning by playing Ghost of Yotei on the PlayStation 5 (thank you Avery) and going for a bike ride with Taylor in the morning before they headed into work. Once back home, I cleaned up the condo and listened to music, then returned to playing hours of Ghost of Yotei. In the evening, Taylor and I joined Alexis and Mikayla for hot pot at Chine. I had never tried hot pot before, but as an eternal fan of soup, I enjoyed it quite a lot! Afterwards, we went to Made By Marcus for ice cream.
  • For books, I finished reading Susan Wise Bauer's The Great Shadow: A History of How Sickness Shapes What We Do, Think, Believe, and Buy and continued reading Eleanor Janega's The Once and Future Sex: Going Medieval on Women's Roles in Society. Also, whilst I continued playing DOOM: The Dark Ages with Taylor, I also started playing Ghost of Yotei. Holy shit, it's so good.
