✨ Happenings

In a way of big changes, the biggest news of the week for myself is that after being interviewed on Tuesday; I was offered a job as a Grade 2 teacher at a public school! I am extremely excited about this next chapter! 👍
I finished my second bullet journal this week and have set-up my third one. It's a wonder to keep this habit – something that would have been more challenging years ago.
On Monday, I took the day off work to help Katelyn and Ang with moving furniture and boxes into their new home. Taylor and I are so excited for our lovely friends. 🧡
On Canada Day, we started the day by joining Nyx for a mosquito-dominated walk around Nose Hill Park. Afterwards we went to Congress Cafe, Nan's Noodles, and walked around the Tuxedo Park neighbourhood. For the rest of the day, I went on a bike ride along the river and I started playing Sid Meier's Civilization VII for the first time!
For Friday, Calgary Stampede kicked off for the city with our annual parade. I avoided it by getting a fresh haircut, picked up new vinyl records, did neighbourhood errands, picked up lunch at Scozzafava's Deli, and finished my first game of Sid Meier's Civilization VII (won a Military Victory as Hawaii).
On Saturday, Taylor and I went to Ship & Anchor to watch the Canada vs Morocco soccer game. After our team lost, we joined up with Alexis to have lunch at Alumni Sandwiches and ice cream at Made By Marcus. For the rest of the day, we listened to our new vinyl records and played Sid Meier's Civilization VII together.
On Sunday, I went for a morning bike ride, bouldered with Taylor, Katelyn, and Ang, played Sid Meier's Civilization VII with Taylor, and watched Dropout over dinner. Most importantly, Taylor and I went to the airport to wish Nyx well as they turned the page on a new chapter of life by moving to Scotland! There were many tears and we are going to miss them so fucking much. Taylor and I are both incredibly proud of them for their bravery in pursuing this new adventure. Scotland will be a better place with so much brightness, creativity and compassion arriving soon on its shores. 💜
