✨ Happenings

  • In the second last week of the academic year, there was plenty of workshops still going on at work. On Monday, Taylor and I joined Nyx and Gabriel for dinner at the Coup on 17th Ave (followed by Made By Marcus ice cream for desert). Beyond that, throughout the work week's evenings, I worked on crossword puzzles, read about consciousness, played Marathon, and listened to vinyl records.
  • For Saturday, Taylor and I went bouldering with Katelyn and Ang, then went for dim sum for lunch (Alexis and Krystal joined). In the afternoon, I played Marathon all day effectively and I do not regret it. On Sunday, with Taylor working at Pride for their AGM, I went for a bike ride, read about postwar German history, did some tidying, and listened to vinyl records.
  • For books, I finished reading Michael Pollan's A World Appears: A Journey into Consciousness and started reading Frank Trentmann's Out of the Darkness: The Germans, 1942-2022. As for video games, I continued to play Marathon. I have been thinking of jumping off the game for the upcoming week and trying something different.
  • Additionally, after months of excruciatingly toil, it looks like I am finally getting towards the end of the long recruitment process with the local school board. I could not have gone this far without the support of Taylor, who has not only provided the moral support I needed to stay resilient, but the legendary procedural competency and immense grit needed to overcome this amount of paperwork. Thank you Taylor! ❤️
