Weeknotes: March 2nd - March 8th 2026

Disclaimer: It should be mentioned that Weeknotes are always a snapshot of the week itself and lack the fullness of life - as is the case with any personal blogging.

✨ Happenings

  • This has been a very stressful week - one of my most stressful weeks in years. Without divulging too much personal information; there was a very serious medical crisis in my immediate family. It is still ongoing and I have been keeping up with developments. Given that these updates were (and still are) sporadically arriving through phone calls and texts from northern Alberta, I spent my time this week anxiously waiting between updates. As the expression goes: "idle hands make devil's playthings." With that in mind, I did my best to occupy myself as much as possible to clear my head. As part of that, I went for bike rides, read, ate comfort foods, and distracted myself with Ghost of Yotei. It helped.
  • With the medical crisis still front of mind, I spent some time with my friends over the weekend to keep me company. On Saturday afternoon, Nyx and I went went on a bike ride along the Bow River and stopped for Canela's afterwards. And then later in the evening, we went to Padmanadi to celebrate their 25th birthday! For Sunday morning, I went to the climbing gym with Katelyn and we got chicken sandwiches afterwards.
  • For books, I finished reading Eleanor Janega's The Once and Future Sex: Going Medieval on Women's Roles in Society. I also started reading Heather Ann Thompson's Fear and Fury: The Reagan Eighties, the Bernie Goetz Shootings, and the Rebirth of White Rage. I also continued playing Ghost of Yotei.
  • My life is made better by my loved ones' and all their generous support. Thank you, eternally. ❤️
