Weeknotes: October 5th - October 11th 2026
Disclaimer: It should be mentioned that Weeknotes are always a snapshot of the week itself and lack the fullness of life - as is the case with any personal blogging.
✨ Chance's Happenings
- With my class size reduced (thanks to the hiring of another Grade 2 teacher), my work week was much more manageable and I had a fantastic time with less general chaos in the classroom. This happened during a week that I had to complete my classes' IPPs and finishing long-range academic planning for the year. Outside of work, Taylor and I went to Katelyn and Ang's for dinner and to play Arcs, but other than that, it was a fairly average work week.
- On the weekend, for both days, Taylor and I joined Katelyn and Ang (as well as Alexis on Sunday) for fish rescue at Carseland Weir. We were blessed with the season's first snowfall, strong winds, wonderful fish, and good company. It was a lot of hauling tubs of fish and identifying all sorts of them, but I am grateful to be busy with work that is meaningful and calms my restless soul.
- This week, my seven-year old desktop computer brought me lots of trouble and after procrastinating for awhile now, Taylor and I decided to go to BestBuy and get a new desktop computer (named Novi) on Sunday.
- For reading, just as last week, I continued reading Daniel Neep’s Syria: A Modern History and David Adam's The Man Who Couldn't Stop: OCD and the True Story of a Life Lost in Thought. As for video games, I continued playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but also started Order of the Sinking Star.
- Oh, and I drove a car for the first time! Thanks Katelyn! 🚗
