Weeknotes: August 31st - September 6th 2026

✨ Happenings

• With Calgary Pride in full swing and the first week of teaching Grade 2, this week has been absurdly busy. On my end, much of the week has been based around establishing classroom expectations and providing a sense of structure to the students. I am really enjoying the flow state of being in the classroom again and how fast the days zip by (time flies when you are having fun). Outside of work, I played Stalker 2 in the evenings and got more take-out than I usually do.
• As for the weekend, it was busy. For Saturday, after going bouldering and getting empanadas with Alexis, I did a bunch of household chores, ran some errands around the neighbourhood, and played Stalker 2. It was raining for much of the day, which whilst not enjoyable for Taylor that day, was splendid for myself. On Sunday, Alexis and I walked with the Alberta New Democratic Party in the Calgary Pride Parade. After, I stopped by Prince's Island Park to drop off food for superstar Taylor and tried a sampler of Filipino food at Feista Filipino on the way home. For much of the day, I hung out at home and played Stalker 2.
• For reading, I started reading Anand Gopal’s Days of Love and Rage: A Story of Ordinary People Forging a Revolution. As for video games, I have been playing the hell out of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. It took some time to get into, but eventually something clicked and I have been obsessing over it.
